14 Days Since Twenty

14.May.2011

Just as the title states, it has been fourteen days since I turned twenty years old. Before, I planned to finish my scrapbook until I turn twenty. Well, I have the materials ready except for the hard copy of the pictures. They're still on my USB, waiting for me to realize that it will be a good thing to print them. Well, I'd probably do that sometime in the near future when I have the drive to do so.

Fourteen days passed by without not much happenings. These were some of the things that I can consider memorable:

1. I was interviewed for IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Groups) but I did not pass since I am way too honest to lie. The interviewer asked me on how long I am planning to stay in their company and what is my career plan. I answered honestly that I might stay for two to three years and I plan on going aboard a cruise ship. Well, if I decided to work land-based, I will definitely try applying again for IHG. It's quiet good for a choice. In this experience, I learned that I need to tell lies during the interview if I want to get the job.

2. I, together with a lot of people, was briefed by Garry Choo about the employment situation in Singapore. I never realized that SPASS is for the experienced individuals. So I might just go for the second option which is TEP (Training Employment Pass). It is still a part of the training but at the very least I was earning higher than that of the Management Trainee here in Philippines. I refer to it as 'better option'.

3. I went to eat at Wheatberry. It's not really good but not that bad, as well. I ate Chocolate Caramel Cake and Chocolate Cream Puff. I still prefer the ones I had at Los Banos. What value I get in this experience? Well, I need to trust my memory a little so as not to waste my time and energy. It's because I walked far away passing a street which seems familiar and related to the place of the store. But I kind of ignored it and looked for the other street until I reached the other end without finding it.

I've been bummed for almost two months and I only received a totally few calls. I'm thinking of submitting again my resume to the hotels I've been to. Well, just in case they only put my resume in the shredder machine. Anyway, my luck is totally different from my friends. I actually need to work a bit harder and exert a bit more effort than the others to obtain what I want. :)
