Confessions of a Shopping Freak

24.May.2011

I confess to all the cashiers and sales person of all the malls, fashion boutiques, department stores, fashion bazaar stores, and even of the cheap clothing stores in Divisoria or Baclaran, that I have sinned for spending too much money on your favor. I am a clothes shopping freak.

There goes my confession, have I been forgiven for being a shopping freak? Well, to tell the truth, I'm not a total Shoppaholic who'd spend thousands of pesos for clothes and accessories. Well, there are times that I am, but not at all times. Last month, I spent nearly two thousand pesos for a bunch good buys. And their not the type of one or two-piece clothing, their outfits from shoes to tops. Get it? The two thousand pesos brought me a pair of shoes, a skirt, a polo blouse, a loose top, an inner garment, a short dress and a cardigan. How about it? Ain't it a good deal? Well, it was for me, that's why I bought them. And yesterday, I spent nearly a thousand pesos for a loose top, a polo blouse and a pair of cute flat shoes.I love the top so I will get it no matter what. I like the polo and just the perfect color for me, a checkered green-black one for a good price. I need a spare polo since I only have two. I bought the flat shoes since I am wearing heels when I got in the mall, and my feet really aching. I need something comfortable for my feet, right? My feet take me anywhere so I love them to the point that they're being abused by me.

Well, I bought them in Landmark in Makati. I just thought that I should not work in Makati for I will one bankrupt after I received my salary. But I like Makati so much that I will still go there most of the time. :)

14 Days Since Twenty

14.May.2011

Just as the title states, it has been fourteen days since I turned twenty years old. Before, I planned to finish my scrapbook until I turn twenty. Well, I have the materials ready except for the hard copy of the pictures. They're still on my USB, waiting for me to realize that it will be a good thing to print them. Well, I'd probably do that sometime in the near future when I have the drive to do so.

Fourteen days passed by without not much happenings. These were some of the things that I can consider memorable:

1. I was interviewed for IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Groups) but I did not pass since I am way too honest to lie. The interviewer asked me on how long I am planning to stay in their company and what is my career plan. I answered honestly that I might stay for two to three years and I plan on going aboard a cruise ship. Well, if I decided to work land-based, I will definitely try applying again for IHG. It's quiet good for a choice. In this experience, I learned that I need to tell lies during the interview if I want to get the job.

2. I, together with a lot of people, was briefed by Garry Choo about the employment situation in Singapore. I never realized that SPASS is for the experienced individuals. So I might just go for the second option which is TEP (Training Employment Pass). It is still a part of the training but at the very least I was earning higher than that of the Management Trainee here in Philippines. I refer to it as 'better option'.

3. I went to eat at Wheatberry. It's not really good but not that bad, as well. I ate Chocolate Caramel Cake and Chocolate Cream Puff. I still prefer the ones I had at Los Banos. What value I get in this experience? Well, I need to trust my memory a little so as not to waste my time and energy. It's because I walked far away passing a street which seems familiar and related to the place of the store. But I kind of ignored it and looked for the other street until I reached the other end without finding it.

I've been bummed for almost two months and I only received a totally few calls. I'm thinking of submitting again my resume to the hotels I've been to. Well, just in case they only put my resume in the shredder machine. Anyway, my luck is totally different from my friends. I actually need to work a bit harder and exert a bit more effort than the others to obtain what I want. :)

Something better

05.May.2011

Ever since my finals, I've been doing the same thing everyday except that since last week my sleep time has been altered to normal. That was the greatest thing that happened to me this summer! To be able to sleep early in the evening and be awake early in the morning. Anyway, even though that happened I still got nothing better to do than to stretch my muscles to avoid severe body pain.

Another good thing happened to me this week! Ever since I turned my globe phone on, I've started receiving calls related to work. I've missed three calls who says "Thank you for calling Crowne Plaza Galleria." when I call back. Calling back is pretty useless though since I still can't get to the person who called me. Well, that was HR for sure. However, I was once connected to the HR when I returned the call I just missed. But the HR person says that my number doesn't match any of their documents. So I guess the only thing left for me is to do is to never miss their call. I'm at fault after all for missing their call several times, anyway.

Today, I received a call from IHG Reservations Office. I had a short interview and tomorrow I was scheduled for a visit at RCBC Plaza. I haven't been in that place since our thesis. I haven't gotten any result of the interview from Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. So this IHG will be my second official job interview. I wish I could really catch the call from Crowne since I still want to be part of the Food and Beverage Department so that I can't involved myself in Banquet. Banquet was my goal after all. I just have to see what will happen on tomorrow's interview. I still wish to be admitted in a good hotel in Singapore though. If we talked about the pay, Singapore is way better.
